Kendenup Stonework Feature House Using Spongelite (Mt Barker Stone)

This Kendenup property has many features all lovingly crafted with this unique local stone by our skilled stonemason.

It began with a grand sweeping entry statement with an outer drywall look and a mortared inner wall. Kim completed this stonework in 2013 and very quickly added a neat smaller farm entry at the other end of the property. The clients then went through the challenging process of being project managers, trades assistants and everything in between whilst building their custom designed home as owner builders. This even involved laying some rock alongside the stonemason as they clad one whole wing of the home with Spongelite (Mt Barker stone).

We later added a stone step entry and porch sides and most recently we finished it off with some low stone garden kerbing to tie it all together. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed seeing their stonework vision become reality and the result is a stunning country retreat that is as full of character and charm as these clients.
