Heritage Fireplace Restoration In Mount Barker

These clients recently purchased a 1905 built home near Mount Barker and wanted to remove a 1970’s built dark brick fireplace and return it to stone. Not entirely sure what we would uncover it was a special moment when Kim exposed the original lime-mortared stone fireplace, complete with blackened patches on the stones and hand-chiselled arch made of local Mount Barker stones. We were able to re-mortar the joints with modern cream concrete and build a new hearth floor from granite. We also helped them install their new fireplace, ensuring they were toasty warm with winter setting in. An interesting Mount Barker stonework project and lovely clients take the chore out of work.
