Granite and Recycled Brick Farmhouse Retaining Wall and Path

This unique project saw the old farmhouse demolished after the brand new build was completed in the backyard. To keep a little bit of the old as the family moved into the new we rescued panels of the old external brickwork and used them to construct the retaining wall. We even recycled the old chimney in the corners. With an infill of local paddock picked granite we were thrilled that it turned out just as Kim hoped and the client was very happy. One of the old brick sheds, with the same style as the old farmhouse, was retained and it was a great way to blend the new and old.

The team also built a granite path through the new back lawn and assisted the softscaper to artfully install a few granite boulders in the new garden beds. We hope these lovely clients continue to enjoy the stone highlights and old features for many years to come, thank you for seeing our vision! (May 2021)
